Wedding and Event planning business during Covid-19 - my interview by LaFotonotizia

In June Giampiero Scafuri, Tutor of the School of Journalism of the University of Salerno. Teacher of the Fiaf. Didactic Department. Direction of courses at the "iophotografo" photography school, interviewed me for his project LaFotonotizia where he and his students and former ones collect, document and report moments of real life experiences through photographs and story-tellings.

Alma deals with the planning of ceremonies and weddings, intended as real events. She assists and advises future spouses during the preparations and on the wedding day, coordinating the work of the other suppliers to ensure a perfect event. She is a "Wedding and event planner", and she has been doing her job for fourteen years with passion and enthusiasm.

To Alma, every detail is like a thread intertwining with the others to weave a precious canvas made of feelings and suggestions. A romantic journey that crosses the world in the whirlwind of emotions and draws inspiration from the details, to build unforgettable sceneries, to make a dream come true between fairies, goblins and butterflies.

Putting an event together during a worldwide pandemic is certainly not a simple task, says Alma, who pointed out the various difficulties that those who work in this business must face. «You need calmness and concentration to organize an event, hindrances bring stress and nervousness. Mediation work must be accomplished to prevent possible family misunderstandings that may happen days before the event. That is why I’m always there, psychologically supporting my clients ». And she also states <<The moment we are facing is peculiar and certainly overwhelming.  It's a phase where everything is frozen and keeps us constantly expecting new guidelines. Our profession is consequently very limited because we don't have the chance to plan destinations for the events ».

There are many questions regarding the future of this business,  while evaluating a change in customs, mind and way to work becomes a new must.

However, there are also many questions that will only find answers with time, though some regulations and norms shall be modified and set anew for the wedding business which is suffering heavy losses, to let it get back in motion.

Meanwhile, Alma awaits for everything to re-start, she goes on with her work with enthusiasm and the smile that distinguishes her.
